To start the game FSu missed its first three shots and committed two turnovers. Their first points came at the eight minute mark when Saevar Sigurmundsson hit two free throws. In the first quarter FSu committed six turnovers and went 6 of 12 from the field but was only down by three with a score of 22-19 at the end of the first ten minutes.
The second quarter was much like the first where FSu committed four turnovers and went 6 of 17 from the field. While Fsu was struggling to get on the same page as a team, IR was also struggling from the field going 4 of 16, but made it count at the free throw line going 5 of 5 and took a 40-33 lead into the locker room. FSu came out strong in the third quarter led by Sigurmundsson who had 26 points on 7 of 12 shooting inside the arc. FSu followed the hot shooting of Sigurmundsson by going 8 of 16 from the field and 3 of 4 from down town. FSu outscored IR 21-18 in the third quarter to bring the score to 58-54 and set up a fourth quarter show down.
FSu had four other players besides Sigurmundsson in double figures. Chris Caird finished with 18 points while Dunaway added 14. Ragnarsson and Sveinsson added 11 and 10 respectively. IR was led by Eirikur Onundarsson with 26 points and Hreggvidur Magnusson and Sveinbjorn Claessen added in 22 and 20 with Magnusson grabbing eight boards. FSu will look to upset number two Grindavik on the road Friday at 19:15. |

FSu visited IR Sunday night to play an important game between two teams who are on the playoff bubble and separated by only two points in the rankings. With a win, FSu would put themselves in a great position to make the playoffs and for IR, a win would guarantee them a playoff spot.
