SYFSu headed to Grindavik Friday looking for an upset against the number two team in the Iceland Express League. FSu held strong the first couple of minutes and at the 7:00 minute mark the score was tied 6-6. Grindavik then switched to an aggressive defense and moved up in the passing lanes and forced Fsu to make some costly turnovers. Grindavik ended the first quarter on a 23-9 run to take a 29-15 lead.

In the second quarter Grindavik kept the pressure on and FSu had a hard time getting open looks. Saevar Sigurmundsson and Arni Ragnarsson hooked up several time on Ragnarsson's drives and Sigurmundsson's putbacks. Even with their courageous efforts, they could not match Nick Bradford and Brenton Birmingham who combined for 13 points in the second quarter and gave Grindavik a 53-40 lead at halftime.

FSu struggled again in the third and faced their largest deficit 79-54 with 2:31 left in the third. In the fourth quarter FSu started to press and force turnovers but could never cut into the lead. The final score was s107-85.

Grindavik was led by Bradford who finished the game with 20 points. Four other Grindavik players finished in double figures. Arnar Jonsson contributed 18 while Birmingham put in 17. Pall Vilbergsson and Thorleifur Olafsson both contributed 12.

FSu was led by Sigurmundsson who finished with 25 and Ragnarsson finished with 22 and 14 rebounds. Bjorgvin Valentinusson had a strong game with 10 points and 14 rebounds.
