FSu Comes up Short Against StjarnanFSu came out with a lot of emotion Sunday night when they played their final game of the season. They came out on fire and took a commanding 18-4 lead at the 3:34 mark on a 3 point shot by Vesteinn Sveinsson. Things were looking up for FSu until Stjarnan went on an 8-1 run to end the quarter and bring the score to 19-12.

The second quarter was almost an exact replica of the first. FSu jumped out to a 10 point lead at the 6:27 mark on another 3-pointer by Sveinsoon. With the score 29-19, Stjarnan regrouped and made another impressive run. They finished the half on a 13-4 run and went into the locker room with Fsu leading 33-32.

 

In the third quarter FSu started out by missing their first 6 shots. FSu didn't score until the 7:43 mark on a layup by Chris Caird. FSu stayed close with tough defense and the third quarter created four lead changes and ended with FSu up 58-55.

FSu came out hot in the fourth quarter and went on a 12-7 run to take a 70-62 lead with 6:06 to go. It looked like FSu would finish the season with a win but they had one final cold streak. FSu could not buy a bucket the last 6 minutes and only managed to produce two points the rest of the game. Stjarnan went on a 14-2 run to end the game. The final score was 78-72.

FSu was led by Sveinsson who finished the game with 19 points. Tyler Dunaway, Arni Ragnarsson, and Chris Caird all finished the game with 15 points.

Stjarnan was led by Justin Shouse who finished with 25 points. Jovan Zdravevski contributed 15 points while Kjartan Kjartansson and Olafur Sigurdsson both tallied 12 points.
